What You Need

  • ½ cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup milk or water
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: cinnamon, fruit, nuts, or chocolate chips

What To Do

  1. Combine oats, milk or water, and salt in a large microwave-safe bowl.
  2. Cover and microwave on high for 90 seconds to 2 minutes.
  3. Carefully remove with oven mitts and let cool 2–3 minutes.
  4. Add toppings and enjoy!
Slow cooker breakfast casserole

Slow Cooker Breakfast Casserole

Serves 8+ · Slow cooker

What You Need

  • 1 bag (30 oz) frozen shredded hash browns
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 12 eggs
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Milk or water + ½ tsp salt

What To Do

  1. Spray slow cooker with nonstick spray (or oil the inside).
  2. Pour hash browns into the bottom.
  3. Cook sausage in a skillet until no pink remains; layer over hash browns.
  4. Whisk eggs with a splash of milk/water and ½ tsp salt. Pour over sausage. Top with cheese.
  5. Cook on high 3–4 hours or low 7–8 hours. Check center for no runny eggs. Serve with ketchup or salsa.
Scrambled eggs and toast

Scrambled Eggs and Toast

Serves 4–8 · Stovetop

What You Need

  • 4–8 eggs
  • 4–8 slices of bread
  • Salt and pepper
  • Cooking spray or oil

What To Do

  1. Crack eggs into a bowl, add a splash of milk or water if desired, and whisk well.
  2. Spray a skillet and heat over low-medium.
  3. Pour in eggs and gently scramble with a plastic spatula until cooked through.
  4. Toast the bread and serve together. Optional: ketchup, salsa, or fruit.
Fruit and yogurt parfait

Fruit and Yogurt Parfait

No cooking · 3 ingredients

What You Need

  • Yogurt (any flavor)
  • Fruit (strawberries, blueberries, etc.)
  • Granola or cereal

What To Do

  1. Spoon yogurt into the bottom of a cup or bowl.
  2. Add a layer of fruit.
  3. Add a layer of granola or cereal.
  4. Repeat layers until full. Enjoy!

Peanut butter and jelly sandwich

Peanut Butter and Jelly

What You Need

  • 2 slices of bread
  • Peanut butter
  • Jelly (any flavor)

What To Do

  1. Spread peanut butter on one slice of bread.
  2. Spread jelly on the other slice.
  3. Put the slices together and enjoy!
BLT sandwich

BLT Sandwich

What You Need

  • 1–2 slices of bacon
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato
  • Mayonnaise
  • 2 slices of bread

What To Do

  1. Place bacon on a paper-towel-lined microwave-safe plate. Microwave 3–4 minutes, flipping halfway.
  2. While bacon cooks, slice tomato and prepare lettuce.
  3. Spread mayonnaise on both slices of bread.
  4. Layer tomato, lettuce, and bacon. Close and enjoy. Optional: toast the bread first.
Ham and cheese sandwich

Ham and Cheese

Quick assembly

What You Need

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 2 slices of ham
  • 1–2 slices of cheese
  • Mayonnaise or mustard

What To Do

  1. Spread mayonnaise or mustard on one or both slices of bread.
  2. Layer the ham and cheese.
  3. Close the sandwich and enjoy. Optional: toast or grill it.
Pita pizzas

Pita Pizzas

Oven · Kid-friendly

What You Need

  • 4 pieces of pita bread
  • Pizza sauce
  • Shredded cheese
  • Optional toppings: pepperoni, pineapple, olives, peppers, etc.

What To Do

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Place pitas on a baking sheet and spread with pizza sauce.
  3. Top with cheese and any extra toppings.
  4. Bake 10–15 minutes until cheese is melted. Let cool a few minutes, then enjoy!
Tomato soup and grilled cheese

Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese

Stovetop · Classic comfort

What You Need

  • 2 cans tomato soup
  • Water or milk
  • 8 slices of bread
  • 4–8 slices of cheese
  • Butter or mayonnaise

What To Do

  1. Pour soup into a saucepan. Fill empty cans with water or milk and add. Heat over medium, stirring.
  2. Make grilled cheese: butter/mayo the outside of bread, add cheese, cook in skillet 1–2 min per side until golden and melty.
  3. Serve soup with grilled cheese for dipping. Turn off the stove when finished!

Ramen Noodles

Microwave · About 5 minutes

What You Need

  • 1 packet ramen noodles + seasoning
  • Water

What To Do

  1. Place noodles in a microwave-safe bowl and cover with water.
  2. Microwave 90 seconds, stir, then another 60 seconds.
  3. Carefully remove. Stir in seasoning (or drain first). Optional: add butter.

Dinner

Slow cooker spaghetti

Slow Cooker Spaghetti

Slow cooker · Hands-off

What You Need

  • 1 (16 oz) box spaghetti
  • 2 (24 oz) cans/jars pasta sauce
  • 1 pasta sauce jar full of water
  • Seasonings of choice
  • 1 (8–16 oz) pack shredded cheese

What To Do

  1. Break spaghetti in half and spread in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Pour both jars of sauce over noodles, then one jar of water. Stir until covered.
  3. Add ½ tsp each of seasonings of choice.
  4. Cook on low 4 hours or high 2–3 hours until water is absorbed and sauce thickens.
  5. Scoop into bowls, top with cheese, and enjoy!
Cheese quesadilla

What You Need

  • 4 tortillas
  • Cheese
  • Butter or oil
  • Optional: cooked chicken, green peppers, black beans, pizza sauce + pepperoni

What To Do

  1. Heat skillet over medium with a tsp of butter or oil.
  2. Fill one side of a tortilla with cheese (and optional fillings), fold in half, and cook 1–2 minutes per side until toasted and cheese is melted.
  3. Repeat and enjoy!
Creamy chicken cheesy rice casserole

Creamy Chicken Cheesy Rice Casserole

Oven · Family-sized

What You Need

  • 2 cups uncooked white rice
  • 2 cups chicken (canned or shredded rotisserie)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom or chicken soup
  • 3 cups chicken broth + 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder + 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt + ½ tsp pepper
  • 2 Tbsp melted butter
  • 1 package frozen broccoli, chopped

What To Do

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13 baking dish.
  2. In the dish stir together rice, cream soup, broth, milk, seasonings, and melted butter.
  3. Stir in chicken, broccoli, and 1 cup cheese. Cover with foil and bake 55 minutes.
  4. Remove foil, stir, top with remaining cheese, and bake uncovered 10–15 minutes more until rice is tender and cheese is bubbly.
  5. Let stand 5–10 minutes before serving. Optional: try tuna + peas instead.
Tacos and nachos

What You Need

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning + ⅔ cup water
  • Taco shells or tortilla chips
  • Shredded cheese, lettuce, salsa, and other toppings

What To Do

  1. Cook ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it up. Drain excess grease.
  2. Stir in taco seasoning and water; simmer 5 minutes on low.
  3. Tacos: Fill shells with beef and top with lettuce, cheese, salsa, etc.
  4. Nachos: Layer chips with beef and cheese; microwave ~30 seconds to melt, then add toppings.

Microwave mac and cheese

Microwave Mac & Cheese

Microwave · About 10 minutes

What You Need

  • ½ cup elbow macaroni
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 Tbsp milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 tsp butter + salt & pepper

What To Do

  1. Combine macaroni and water in a large microwave-safe bowl.
  2. Microwave 2 minutes, stir, then continue in 1-minute intervals (6–10 min total) until tender. Add water if needed.
  3. Drain, then stir in milk, butter, and cheese until creamy (extra 45 sec if needed).
  4. Season and let sit 1 minute before eating.
Fruit and vegetable kababs

Fruit or Vegetable Kababs

What You Need

  • Chopped fruits of choice
  • Chopped vegetables of choice
  • Cheese cubes
  • Kebab skewers

What To Do

  1. Chop fruits, veggies, and cheese into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Layer them on skewers in any pattern you like.
  3. Eat and enjoy! Optional: Tajín + chamoy on mango or watermelon.
Trail mix

Trail Mix

No cooking · Mix & match

What You Need

  • 1 cup peanuts
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup cereal
  • 1 cup pretzels
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

What To Do

  1. Mix 1 cup of each into a gallon bag.
  2. Shake until mixed. Pour into bowls and enjoy!

Optional: any nuts or dried cranberries instead of raisins.

Popcorn

Popcorn

Microwave · Paper bag method

What You Need

  • ¼ cup popcorn kernels
  • 1–2 tsp melted butter
  • Salt or seasoning
  • Brown paper bag

What To Do

  1. Put kernels in a brown paper bag; fold top 2–3 times.
  2. Microwave ~2 min 30 sec. Stop when popping slows to ~1 pop every 3 seconds.
  3. Carefully open, add butter and seasoning, reseal and shake. Enjoy!

Optional: ranch, garlic salt, or cinnamon sugar.

Tomato and cheese bites

Tomato and Cheese Bites

No cooking · Super simple

What You Need

  • Cherry tomatoes (or diced tomatoes)
  • Cheese cubes
  • Toothpicks

What To Do

  1. Dice tomatoes if needed and cut cheese into cubes.
  2. Skewer one tomato and one cheese cube on each toothpick.
  3. Enjoy! Optional: drizzle of olive oil + basil.

Frozen yogurt or juice pops

Frozen Yogurt or Juice Pops

What You Need

  • Yogurt or juice
  • Popsicle sticks (or spoons/toothpicks)

What To Do

  1. Insert a stick into individual yogurt cups (or fill ice cube trays/small cups with yogurt or juice).
  2. Freeze 4–6 hours.
  3. Run under warm water briefly to release. Enjoy!

What You Need

  • 4 apples
  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • Cinnamon

What To Do

  1. Core and slice the apples (adult help recommended).
  2. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add apples and cook 3–4 minutes.
  3. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon; cook 6–8 more minutes until tender and sauce thickens.
  4. Serve warm. Optional: top with vanilla ice cream.
Peanut butter cookies

3-Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies

Oven · Only 3 ingredients

What You Need

  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg

What To Do

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a baking sheet.
  2. Mix peanut butter, sugar, and egg until creamy.
  3. Scoop 1-inch balls, flatten with a fork (criss-cross looks nice).
  4. Bake 8–10 minutes until lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes before removing.
Cinnamon sugar tortillas

Cinnamon Sugar Tortillas

Oven · Crispy treat

What You Need

  • 4 tortillas
  • 2 Tbsp melted butter
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 2 Tbsp cinnamon

What To Do

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Mix sugar and cinnamon. Brush tortillas with melted butter and sprinkle with the mixture.
  3. Bake 8–10 minutes until brown and crisp. They get even crispier as they cool. Enjoy!
